BIO : MJ Tremblay

MJ Tremblay a des racines algonquines et est originaire de Montréal. Elle est photographe, auteure-compositrice-interprète, comédienne et artiste peintre. Venant d'une famille de photographes, c'est à l'âge de neuf ans que MJ Tremblay fait ses premiers pas en photographie, autant à la prise de vue qu'au développement en chambre noire. MJ est une passionnée du cinéma de répertoire. Elle a étudié en communications et en cinéma au Cégep Jean-de-Brébeuf, puis, en cinéma à l'Université Concordia. Elle a également un BAC en art dramatique de l'UQAM ainsi que des études en chant et piano du Cégep de Saint-Laurent. 
Elle a réalisé quatre courts-métrages en noir et blanc: documentaire, fiction et animation ainsi que quatre courts-métrages avec Wapikoni mobile et l'UQAM.

 MJ Tremblay has Algonquin roots and is originally from Montreal.
She is a photographer, singer-songwriter, actress and painter. Coming from a family of photographers, MJ took her first steps in photography at the age of nine, both shooting and developing in the darkroom. MJ is passionate about repertoire cinema. She studied communications and cinema at Cégep Jean-de-Brébeuf. She then studied film at Concordia University. She directed four short films with Wapikoni Mobile and UQAM. She also has a Bachelor’s Degree in Theatre from UQAM as well as formal voice and piano training from Cégep de Saint-Laurent.
She has made four black and white short films: documentary, fiction and animation.
